Actively participate in a local or global digital network
Starting back in 2014 Nearpod has been one of my favorite tools to share with educators. And in 2018 I was fortunate to have a former EdTech colleague of mine, Katie Hill, approach me about working with her on a project for Nearpod where she had recently been hired.
With Katie’s encouragement I applied to the Nearpod “PioNear” program and was approved as both a PioNear and a Nearpod Certified Trainer in the fall of 2018.
Since then I have been contracted by Nearpod to present at school districts in Kansas, California, Colorado and all over Utah. I’ve also participated in a series of webinars, social media groups, and collaborated with Nearpod to create an online MOOC for Utah Educators interested in becoming Nearpod Certified Educators.

Provide opportunities for students to reflect on their own learning data
Along with becoming a Nearpod Certified Trainer and member of their online community, I’ve also been able to work on a Nearpod MOOC. In this course we teach teachers how to use the Nearpod Reports for each lesson to gather the data necessary to adjust instruction, share student progress with parents, and build a sense of student self-direction in the classroom.
